Code of Conduct – UX Rotterdam 2026
Last updated: 04-08-2025
Purpose
UX Rotterdam 2026 is committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all attendees — regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion (or lack thereof), or any other aspect of identity.
This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for everyone participating in the event and the consequences of unacceptable behavior.
We ask all participants — attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff — to help us ensure a positive and inclusive experience for everyone.
Expected Behavior
- Participate actively and authentically. Contribute to a positive and collaborative community experience.
- Be respectful. Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
- Foster collaboration, not conflict. Seek understanding before confrontation.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech.
- Be mindful of surroundings and fellow participants. Alert organizers if you notice dangerous situations, distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct — even if they seem minor.
Advertising and Promotion
- Focus on giving before asking. Contribute to the community before promoting your own work.
- Sharing projects, products, or job opportunities is welcome, but please use designated spaces (e.g., recruitment lounge or specific channels) where available.
- Respect the event’s flow; unsolicited sales pitches in talks, workshops, or private conversations are discouraged.
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behaviors include but are not limited to:
- Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning speech or actions
- Harmful or prejudicial comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, or any personal characteristic
- Inappropriate use of nudity or sexual images (including in presentations)
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following individuals
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks, workshops, or other event activities
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
- Immediate action will be taken by event organizers, which may include: verbal warnings, removal from the event without refund, or reporting to local authorities if necessary.
- Sponsors and those with decision-making authority are equally subject to these rules.
Reporting
If you witness or are subject to unacceptable behavior, or have concerns about safety or inclusivity:
- Approach any UX Rotterdam organizer or staff member (easily identifiable by badges or apparel)
- Or contact us confidentially at info@uxrotterdam.com
Reports will be handled with discretion and care.

- At official evening events (Grace, The Grit)
- In workshops, networking areas, and recruitment lounge
- Online platforms associated with UX Rotterdam (website, newsletters, social media)
