Hi, I’m Mei, a seasoned design leader with 10+ years of experience in shaping productstrategy and user experiences across diverse domains. I currently work at Booking.com.

I’m known for driving impactful results in complex environments. My strength lies in optimizing the entire design process, leading projects, and managing stakeholders effectively.

My core philosophy is simple: right design always starts with the right method. I excel at quickly defining which design approach will solve specific challenges across fields like sustainability, User-Generated Content, and e-commerce. I’m also an active mentor, dedicated to fostering growth in the next generation of designers.

I truly believe that by sharing positive energy within our community, we all grow together.

What is your vision on our UX industry?

The digital landscape is undergoing a profound transformation. We’re standing at the inflection point of the Generative AI era, which I see as a major strategic pivot for our industry.

This acceleration is automating the production side such as the details of UIs and the standard interaction flows.

This liberation frees us to channel our energy toward true creativity. We’re shifting our focus to the most critical, early stage of the design process: deep user empathy, uncovering unmet needs, and high-level ideation.

As Steve Jobs said, our job is to discover what users need before they even realize it. This shift is leading to a convergence of the Designer and Product Manager roles, where one person can now conceptualize and launch a fully functional, market-ready product.

While efficiency is certainly improving, our challenge is no longer how fast we build, but what we choose to build. Our ultimate focus must be on driving genuine innovation and creating products that truly benefit humanity.

Elevating Product Design Through Collaboration, Not Replacement - a practical roadmap for mastering the Generative AI era.

The core of my talk shows how AI frees us from the tactical execution of pixels and microcopy.
By acting as a co-pilot, AI becomes a 10x idea multiplier and synthesizes complex research data at speed, moving us from hands-on creation to strategic Curation and Empathy.
This acceleration empowers us to take on the role of Creative Director, designing the next generation of products. I'll show how we transition from mapping clicks to mapping user intent, eliminating friction in the user journey.
Crucially, I'll also share insights from my own ten-year journey in the industry, from starting my career as an intern and advancing into a senior role, with the essential skills needed to thrive. I’ll discuss how to strategically identify and apply the right methods to complex challenges, proving that GenAI is not a threat but a massive upgrade for the design professions.
