I’m Thomas Gorree, Strategic Design Lead at Online Department, where I help teams design products that don’t just look good — they perform!
With more than two decades in digital design, I’ve worked across agencies, corporates, and startups, turning complex strategies into clear, intuitive experiences. Bringing together UX strategy, design leadership, and facilitation, I’ve developed a broad view of how design can truly influence outcomes.
I’m passionate about helping designers step up, grow their confidence, navigate business realities, and use design as a tool for measurable impact. In my current role at Online Department, I focus on building strong teams, driving design maturity, and making sure creativity and performance go hand in hand.
What is your vision on UX?
Design is entering yet another new era, but our influence hasn’t quite kept up.
We’ve proven we can make things usable, beautiful, and human-centered. But too often I encounter design teams stuck between user needs and business pressures. To solve this we need to reposition ourselves as the integrator between brand, business, and behavior.
Our future depends on our ability to drive business goals through design impact — to align with KPIs, to challenge strategy with data, and to prove that great design is good business.
When we understand business models and decision-making, we earn a seat at the table and design stops being a cost center and becomes a competitive advantage.
