Cecilia Brenner

Who is Cecilia Brenner?

Cecilia Brenner is the Managing Director of Design for Good, a global alliance dedicated to creating lasting, measurable impact for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Since joining the charity, Cecilia has successfully led the charity in mobilising thousands of creatives to design in close collaboration with NGOs and affected communities worldwide.

With over 25 years of international experience in design and leadership, Cecilia is a catalyst for inclusion, innovation and impact. She previously served as an Experience Design Business Partner and Director at Philips, where she spent 17 years improving people’s health and well-being through innovation, building high-performing global design teams and communities, as well as leading transformational programmes with a unique blend of strategic and network leadership.

Cecilia has been a featured speaker at events such as the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos at the World Woman House and the 2025 World Design Congress, and has been interviewed for podcasts and media outlets.

Beyond her executive role, Cecilia is a dedicated mentor in effective leadership, and life-centred design — empowering the next generation to improve life through design. With a strong foundation in experience and system design, Cecilia is driven by a mission to collectively harness the power of design to create a positive impact for all life.

What is your vision on our creative industry?

To address the world’s challenges, design needs to evolve from human to life-centred design. I believe the core of good design is to care for all life, collaborate across people, perspectives and ecosystems, and connect them in ways that create meaningful and lasting change.

Design for Good has an ambition to improve 10 million lives and measurably regenerate the planet by 2030, in addition to training 10,000 creatives on the principle of life-centred design and systems thinking. I’m excited as we continue to build our movement network.

What are you bringing to UX Rotterdam?

The power of collaboration in designing for good

I will talk about the power of collaboration in designing for good, how the Design for Good model works, and how we plan to address people and planet health in our most ambitious programme cycle yet. I will demonstrate these points by sharing some of our impact stories from our projects on water and education.
