Oskar Mieta
Founder, Desses
Oskar Mieta is a designer who learned to build. Trained in Rotterdam at Grafisch Lyceum and CMD, he founded Desses in 2018, a studio where design, Framer and AI ship as one piece. He designed and built the UX Rotterdam 2027 website, and in 2026 the UX Rotterdam jury handed him the DCT Award for UX Design.

Who is Oskar Mieta?
Oskar Mieta is a designer who learned to build. He started freelancing in 2018 while at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam, interned as a graphic designer at Teldesign and Admix, and studied Communication & Multimedia Design at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. His designs kept coming back from development looking different, and clients kept asking whether he could build them too. So he learned Framer, then code.
At Wild Digital he designed and built Framer sites and enterprise design systems. At code d'azur, part of Hypersolid, he designed a conversational configurator assistant for Polestar. Through all of it he ran Desses, a Rotterdam studio for product design, websites, Framer development and custom software, where the person who scopes the problem is the one who builds it. Clients include DEPT, Hypersolid, ChargeBlock, Sully.ai and RobotX, and he designed and built the UX Rotterdam 2027 website.
He is a Framer Partner and Pro Expert. In 2026 the UX Rotterdam jury handed him the DCT Award for UX Design, and he won the Framer Agents Hackathon with DRUM003, a drum machine built inside Framer. He was a Creative Talent Award 2025 finalist and made the TNW T500 and T750 lists. He shares what he learns at Framer meetups, in talks and in guest lectures, including at CMD.
Away from the screen it's hiking, motorcycling, fitness and archery, in Polish, German, Dutch or English, with Korean in progress. AI bought back his time for those things, he says. His friends say he still works too much.
What is your vision on our creative industry?
Every generation of designers had its shift. The factory meant designing for a machine instead of your own hands. The camera meant painting what a lens couldn't. The Mac meant learning the software or losing the job. Ours is AI, and the hard part now is directing the work and judging it.
AI takes the production: the variants, the breakpoints, the hours of moving buttons. The design work stays and the repetition goes, so our hours move to direction, taste and judgment.
It also compresses the gap between design and code. Designers can own as much of the path to production as they choose, and the prototype a client reacts to can be the real product. Keeping up with every new tool will exhaust you. The workflow lasts longer than the tools: design to code, compressed. Designers who ship get a seat at the table.
What are you bringing to UX Rotterdam?
Designers who ship
Every generation of designers had its shift: the factory, the camera, the Mac. Ours is AI, and it takes the production work off our hands. I'll show what that frees up, from button states to live products, through three projects: a full platform built from loose Figma frames, a drum machine built inside Framer from the terminal, and my own studio's client portal. What AI did well, where it reported success and had written nothing, and the checks that caught it. Software lives in code. This talk is about getting your ideas there yourself.
